The creative work of vloggers may be exploited by numerous parties for various purposes. Producing a popular vlog while protecting the intellectual property rights of the vlogger will require an understanding of several aspects of intellectual property law. This session will review the origin, nature and extent of copyright; the principle of “fair use” of copyrighted material; the issue of trademark dilution; and other intellectual property law concepts relevant to publishing artistic expressions. Potential business and revenue models for vloggers and vlog publishers will also be considered.
