Flash in Videoblogs
Hello and welcome
Loved by many and misunderstood by most, Flash Video is taking the stage as the preeminent cross-platform, cross-browser video delivery solution for the web. Adopted by Google and YouTube, Flash video is now becoming easily available for individual vloggers . New client-side encoding tools allow you to capture, transcode your vlog content and mount it on the web all without opening (or even owning) the Flash authoring tool, in fact, without even leaving your browser.
We’ll look at why you might want to use Flash, why you might not, how to encode to FLV, how to build players, how to avoid having to build players and look at the largely unexplored world of the Flash Media Server and some of the advanced interactivity that that product can bring.
Some leading Flash proponents will be participating in this panel and doing some short demos:
Chris Hock – Product Mananger, Flash Video, Adobe
David Lerman – VideoEgg
Mike Lanza – ClickTV
We’ll focus on the technical, the how-to’s and will do some real-time capture, encode and publishing. Bring your questions, problems, issues and comments on this subject – this is an ecxcellent opportunity to educate yourself on Flash Video.
Looking forward to the session.
Cheers,
Will Law
