Recording live music


Bill Streeter of LO-FI SAINT LOUIS and Randy Mann of live from lowell livefromlowell.com and Share and Bam from Rock n Roll TV will explain techniques he uses to shoot live music performances.

All as they relate to the unique situation of shooting music in a live music club environment.

Videoblogging to promote your local music scene will also be discussed.

This will be an colaberative workshop, audience members are welcome bring their cameras to the opening night party at The House of Sheilds and record the live entertainment to be cut in the workshop on Saturday. Developing–more details to come …

Bio

Bill Streeter is a graphic artist who has lived in St. Louis since 2001. He studied film at Columbia College Chicago after a 4 year tour of duty in the Air Force. In addition to working at everything from a small Internet start-up to a large multinational corporation, he also worked on many indepedent films. Since moving to St. Louis from Chicago in 2001 he co-founded GaragePunk.com, and in 2005 GaragePunk.com Podcasts that serves a large community of underground rock ‘n’ roll enthusiasts. His video blog LO-FI SAINT LOUIS was started in 2005 to promote underground music and culture in St. Louis Missouri, and is an outlet for his passion for music, art, movie making and technology. LO-FI SAINT LOUIS has gotten local and international attention including a cover article in the Riverfront Times in January 2006.

Once upon a time, Randy Mann was walking through downtown Lowell when he noticed a friend who was going to a  lecture on putting video on the web. Ever since then, Randy has produced over 200 videos for his videoblog on things ranging from jetskiing to local bands. His work within the community netted him Lowell Telecommunications’ Producer of the Year award in 2005. He is currently working on Live From Lowell (http://livefromlowell.com), a weekly show of underground music.

Share and Bam Ross are musicians residing in Los Angeles, CA. (Bubble,Vixen, The Dogs D’Amour.) Along with the music side of life, Bam works as a film editor for many record companies and makes indie music videos. Share is the host of the show. Together, they have years of experience as players, producers, and all around lovers of all things rock n roll. The vidcast, Rock n Roll TV provides an unusual outlet for their film-making, art and insanity to co-exist while sharing underground bands with new fans. Rock n Roll Tv has been mentioned in Wired, Blabbermouth and Rocksound magazines.
